The process and inspiration for these paintings includes the use of a soft colour palette,  glued paper, then all sanded away to reveal the layers.This takes an incredible amount of bravery. I  spend hours exploring one idea...only to then bury it under more layers of paper and paint. This creative path  is not for the faint of heart. You can't be precious; you have to move forward with dramatic gestures to express the past , the present and the future.
